Dec 8—Dec 23 Youth Haven Art House: Open Windows
Th. Dec. 8 Opening Reception 5:00 – 8:00 PM
Youth Haven and Thomas Riley Studio are partnering for the second annual mixed media art exhibition featuring the artwork by the children at Youth Haven. The exhibit will feature the Youth Haven Art House which displays many small, individual mixed media paintings made by the Youth Haven kids and teens. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Youth Haven’s Children’s Art Program.
Th. Jan 5 Season Kick Off Party & Artist Talk with Colin Phipps, Director of Design SGMW, General Motors China / Art + Design at Silverspot Cinema
Reception from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. Artist talk begins promptly at 6 PM.
Thomas Riley Studio is hosting internationally recognized designer Colin Phipps, exterior designer for General Motors for over ten years, now Director of Design for SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGMW). Phipps has previously worked under Buick and as the Senior Exterior Program Designer for Cadillac. Following a similar format of his Ted Talk in Mexico City, Phipps will be speaking on the crossover of art and design in a practical application, and what the future of design looks like from a conceptual and technological perspective.

Apr 13 – May 25 Tadao Cern + Taek Lee

This multi-media show will feature artists from the across the globe who are pioneering new and innovative processes.
Taekyeom Lee is currently a professor at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Formally trained in graphic design, Taek explores unconventional methods of creating three-dimensional type with materials and techniques unique to type design —such as ceramics and desktop 3D printing.
Tadao Cern is a Lithuanian multi-media artist known internationally for his projects Black Balloons, Chromatic Aberrations and his photographic series, Comfort Zone.
